Little Joe

Little Joe started his apprenticeship in 1995 under Tim Corley and Sister Bear at Millennium Gallery of Living Art in Fort Collins, Colorado. After serving his apprenticeship, he moved to Lafayette, LA to work under Ms. Jacci Gresham and Allan at Ancient Art Tattoo. From there, Joe moved to Seattle to work for Jamie Trujillo at Chrome Ohm, and then under Ernie Gosnell at Lucky Devil Tattoo soon thereafter. Joe worked under Ernie until 2001, when he moved to Orlando to work at Devotion Tattoo. Joe tattooed at Devotion for several years before tattooing privately, and then opening his own shop in 2010.

Joe has a variety of influences from throughout the world of tattooing. He has been influenced by many Traditional American tattooers such as Paul Rogers, Sailor Jerry, Owen Jensen, Ted Inman, Ed Hardy, Bob Roberts, Painless Paul Nelson, and Sailor Moses. Joe has also drawn inspiration from modern artists such as Eddy Deustche, Shahn Anderson, Chris Trevino, and Chad Chesko. Japanese influences include Horiyoshi II (Kuronuma), Sabado, Yoshitoshi, and Kawanabe Kyosai. Joe also has a love for Polynesian and South Pacific island tattooing. All of these influences inspire Joe to take a more distinctive and abstract approach to American tattooing.
